Battle for Cayo, Belize’s Premier Annual Disc Golf Tournament

Trophies from Last YearIf you find yourself needing another reason to visit Belize, The Battle for Cayo is an annual Disc Golf event held in the western district of Belize. You will be challenged to 3 rounds of Disc Golf over 2 days.

Legacy Discs is one of the sponsors of this event and will provide all Amateurs with 2 new premium discs and a shirt.

Professional players will have $1000 USD in added cash.

Entry fees for Professional players is $100 USD, Amateurs $50 USD

October 22, 2022 is Day 1 is held in the town of Spanish Lookout. You will play 1 round at Countryside Parks picturesque 18 hole course and one round at Target Plus at Brooklyn Farms. These rounds start at 9 am and 1 pm.

October 23, 2022 is Day 2 is held in the village of San Jose Succotz at Belize’s first and most difficult Disc Golf course Trek Stop. Their track features 18 holes through dense jungle and is played around and up an ancient mayan temple. These rounds are on tee times.

Where is Belize? Belize is located below southeast Mexico and east of Guatemala.

Flights? For this event and most in Belize you will fly into Belize City, Philip Goldson International Airport.

Rental Cars? There are options at the airport from Crystal Car Rental to mainstream Budget Rent a car offices.

Hotel/Resort/AirBnb? We recommend staying near or in San Ignacio. The courses are close by and there are many restaurants and resorts.
We recommend Cahal Pech Resort.

Is equipment available for purchase? There is a shop in Spanish Lookout called 501 Discs, you can find them on facebook and instagram.

What else can Belize offers visitors? Aside from 7 Disc Golf courses around the mainland, there are famous Mayan Temples to explore all throughout Belize.

Belize is home to the second largest barrier reef in the world and offers world class diving experiences.

The Belize Zoo is a great attraction to visit when heading to or from San Ignacio its right off the highway.

There are many islands to explore. San Pedro in Ambergris Caye is a popular spot to launch from for boat tours and just to party in general. Caye Caulker is another popular island.
