With the Professional Disc Golf Association promoting Disc Golf in Latin America we thought we should introduce Randy Dueck PDGA #139619! He is Latin America’s top rated Player at 994 and he was born and raised in Belize.
His Professional Career while short is quite accomplished. He is 2x Belize National Champion. 3x Champion of the Brooklyn Farms Open, Belize’s longest running event and 3x Champion of the Battle for Cayo, Belize’s/Central America’s Largest Disc Golf Event. His biggest win in the US was the the 21st Annual Southwest Florida Open Sponsored by Dynamic Discs.
In 2022, Randy Played 26 Tournaments with 8 Victories, 5 podium finishes and 6 more top 10 finishes. He has 43 Career Events with 15 Victories.
His family are also the owners of the Target Plus Disc Golf course in Spanish Lookout, Cayo, Belize, the 1st course in Spanish Lookout which was quickly embraced by their local township and has made Disc Golf so popular they have now have 3 Public Courses and 1 Private just in their town within minutes from each other.
Randy is flying to the US in a few weeks to play as many tournaments as possible and hoping to make it into some Disc Golf Pro Tour Events and was gracious enough to provide us an interview.
Randy, when did you first learn about Disc Golf?The end of 2019 is the first time I knew disc golf existed. By the end of 2020 I started to take it seriously.
What is your favorite event you have played so far? It’s gotta be the Waco Annual Charity Open. It’s The first event I ever watched at the Pro level and the first Pro tournament I got to play.
In 2022 you went to the US, How was your touring experience? Tons of fun and made me more hungry to develop my game.
What do you like about the US Courses vs Belize Courses? Love the variety of shots in the US. Pushes you to have every shot in the bag. Nothing like playing in the lush green fairways and jungles of Belize though
What is your favorite Course you have played? Has to be Waco again. A perfect mix of Open and Wooded
What Course or Courses are on your Wishlist to play? Winthrop and Toboggan have got to be up there.
